KUALA LUMPUR: Kerajaan akan menekankan komitmen terhadap kestabilan dasar dan peranannya yang penting sebagai pemimpin serantau dalam masa depan ekonomi Asia Tenggara dalam Rancangan Malaysia Ke-13 yang akan datang.
Rafizi berkata, Malaysia dan negara-negara Kecil, Terbuka dan Tidak Berpihak harus mengambil perspektif globalis, memanfaatkan kedudukan unik mereka untuk mencorakkan laluan yang bebas dalam dunia yang semakin terpolarisasi. “Menjelang 2030, populasi kelas menengah di rantau ini dijangka akan berganda berbanding dua dekad lalu, membentuk 65 peratus daripada jumlah penduduk dan melepasi asas pengguna Amerika Syarikat dan Kesatuan Eropah.
“Sebagai rantau yang paling banyak berurus niaga di dunia, Asia Tenggara bergantung pada perdagangan terbuka untuk merangsang pertumbuhan dan Malaysia tetap teguh dalam memperjuangkan pendekatan ini. Beliau menjelaskan bahawa untuk melepaskan diri daripada pembangunan yang bergantung kepada buruh kos rendah dan nilai rendah, Malaysia perlu mengadaptasi strategi pertumbuhan yang dipacu oleh inovasi berdaya tinggi.
