This comes after Malacca Umno announces that Bersatu will not be part of the state government.

Malacca Bersatu will support whoever is appointed as the new chief minister by the governor Mohd Khalil Yaakob tomorrow, said its deputy leader Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen.

Mohd Rafiq , who is Paya Rumput assemblyperson, said the incoming state government would be more organised and efficient once the chief minister's appointment was completed.“The people want the political turmoil that is happening in the country and Malacca to stop immediately. "The government should focus on issues related to the development of the economy, solutions to address the water crisis, investment, health issues including prevention measures for coronavirus, welfare and education of the people," he said in a statement today.

Ironically, the instability began when the Malacca government collapsed last week when Rafiq and three other assemblypersons withdrew from the coalition and chief minister Adly Zahari wasAside from Rafiq, his Bersatu colleague Noor Effandi Ahmad , Norhizam Hassan Baktee and Muhammad Jailani Khamis defected from DAP and PKR respectively.

Rafiq said Bersatu should work with BN to form a state government under Perikatan Nasional with the support of Jailani and Norhizam.
