Motorists invited to take part in a trial of Victoria's digital driver's licences were left thinking they had been scammed after an email bungle.
The Andrews government last month announced a trial of the new licences in Ballarat from mid-year ahead of the system going live across the state.
"Digital driver licences are rolling out across Victoria by 2024 and we're starting with Ballarat," the email said. Craig Hughes, who was referred to as Craig Taylor, told the Herald Sun:"I thought it was a scam and I was surprised to learn it was real".
