It's understood they're looking to thrash out a number of problems, including GP shortages, rising out-of-pocket expenses for patients, and overburdened public hospitals.Medicare is facing its biggest overhaul in 40 years, which could see funding opened to nurses and paramedics.They'll be asking for more health funding from the federal government, as well as a big change for pharmacies.
Under a proposal they'll discuss with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, pharmacists would be given the power to diagnose and prescribe for common conditions, so GPs aren't the only place people can go.Where Australia ranks in countries with the greatest health freedoms
