YANGON: Thai authorities are reported to have arrested eight Myanmar nationals and a Thai truck driver over attempted human smuggling near the Thai-Myanmar border at 3pm on Saturday (Nov 16).
THE Selangor Islamic Religious Council has started rehabilitation programmes for the children rescued from GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd using a special module called the Islamic Education Module.
State Islamic affairs and cultural innovation committee chairman Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah said Mais' agency, the Darul Ehsan Islamic Foundation also provided the children with basic needs."Jais and Mais have involved 45 Jais teachers in carrying out the faith rehabilitation programmes for 210 children.
Fahmi was responding to Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi at the Selangor State Assembly on Monday in Shah Alam. "A total of 138 GISB members, 41 men and 97 women, were arrested and will be prosecuted under the Child Act 2001 for offences related to child trafficking and exploitation, as well as the Income Tax Act 1967.
