YANGON: Thai authorities are reported to have arrested eight Myanmar nationals and a Thai truck driver over attempted human smuggling near the Thai-Myanmar border at 3pm on Saturday (Nov 16).

KOTA KINABALU: Cybercrimes , particularly online fraud, are the main contributors to the rise in commercial crime cases in Sabah , said state police commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.

Sabah police, he said, recorded 2,260 commercial crime cases in the first 10 months of the year – an increase of 295 cases or 15.19% – compared to 1,962 cases recorded last year. He stressed that the police remain committed to running continuous awareness campaigns on commercial crimes, both in person and via social media.
