Injured Collingwood vice-captain Jeremy Howe has been sent back to hospital after the club found an infection in his broken arm. 7NEWS

“The 32-year-old had surgery on his broken forearm on Saturday, March 18 after sustaining the injury during the third quarter of the Club’s Round 1 match against Geelong at the MCG,” it read.Club footy boss Graham Wright also provided an update.

“Our main priority is Jeremy’s health and we will continue to support him as he recovers,” Wright said.“The infection was picked up early by medical staff, and we don’t foresee any long-term issues.“Despite the slight setback with his recovery, in true Jeremy style, he is in good spirits.” The setback is a blow to Howe, 32, who had played 24 games last season after only managing 12 appearances across 2020 and 2021 due to injuries.If you’d like to view this content, please adjust your
