Tabuena, who stood at joint 23rd halfway through the 18th leg of this year’s Asian Tour, worked his way to a share of eighth with a 66 in the third round then sustained his form and shot four birdies in the first nine holes, highlighted by a three-birdie binge from No. 2. Winner of the DGC Open in India last March, Tabuena has 1,279.26 points with leader Andy Ogletree of the US in command with 1,949.52 points with four more events left in the season although three of those are under the International Series calendar.

Meanwhile, Justin Quiban matched par 71 and ended up tied at 51st at 279 while Lloyd Go wound up at joint 61st, also after a 71 for a 282. Defending champion Nueva Ecija tries to finish off Pasay in Game 2 of their best-of-three quarterfinals face-off in the 2023...
