An anonymous Facebook user found a stack of RM50 bills worth RM550 accidentally left in a cash deposit machine at a bank in Sungai Petani. Instead of keeping the money, they took to social media to help return it to its rightful owner.
What would you do if you were to find a stack of money left unattended, with the owner nowhere in sight? An anonymous person took to the SP人 Facebook page to call for the owner of a stack of RM50 bills, amounting to RM550, to head to a bank in Sungai Petani and collect their money. This comes after the owner had accidentally left the money in a cash deposit machine at the bank.
The anonymous person wrote, “Around 9am this morning (Monday, January 6), at the second machine on the right-hand side of the Lagenda Heights Hong Leong Bank. Your 11 pieces of RM50 notes were rejected by the machine.” “Please go to the bank and speak to the bank staff to collect the money.” The person’s sincerity in returning the money, rather than taking it for themselves like in this social experiment, should be commended, especially considering one cannot predict how important the money could be to the owner.
