Martin Brundle was left baffled after Lewis Hamilton's bid to earn pole in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix fell apart on his final lap.
His Mercedes teammate George Russell went on to secure pole, despite the fact he finished with the exact same time as Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Russell was ultimately given the nod due to the fact he finished his lap first, which is only the second time pole position has been decided this way in the history of the sport.
