Letters to the Editor
Readers tied JFK to Martyr’s Park; are disappointed in Dallas Habitat for Humanity; don’t agree with how UTA handled a forum uproar; and enjoyed story on how politics birthed the Rangers.
I also enjoyed Gromer Jeffers’ short history of how the Washington Senators were pried loose and brought to Texas.
The hatred that existed in Dallas for Kennedy was 60 years ago. It has lessened and healed. The time has come to show in our public spaces more of the history of the injustices that led up to Kennedy’s June 11, 1963, nationwide address on civil rights. The connection of Martyr’s Park to the work of Kennedy must be made. The recording of Kennedy’s address to our nation that day should be considered for inclusion in our public space. We must not forget his message.
