Readers suggest a guardrail on Texas’ impeachment process; agree with editorial about the dangers of Abbott’s voucher obsession; are sad about Starbucks leaving Highland Park Village; and appreciate Dave Lieber’s column on Patriot Mobile.
Perhaps Starbucks isn’t a “good fit” for HPV, but it’s the perfect fit for its customers. Any Saturday morning will prove the importance — and popularity — of Starbucks as the neighborhood gathering place. Her tricky words claiming that Patriot Mobile, her company, doesn’t contribute to candidates but does contribute to Patriot Mobile Action, a political action committee that does contribute to school board campaigns, makes me think that she would make a good lawyer.
In general, I believe that school boards should be the business of the residents of that community, not companies that have no connection to that community. Many thanks to Dave Lieber for presenting a complete picture.Patriot Mobile states, “One main goal is to restore prayer in public schools.” Well, hallelujah, that was easy. There already is prayer in public schools — it never left.
