While some immigrants receive a warm welcome, one reader remembers the type of welcome he received after returning from the Vietnam War.It’s funny how times have changed. I had three jobs while I was attending high school. I graduated in three and a half years. I went directly to St. Mary’s University. I worked two full-time jobs for four years. I was married to a wonderful wife and I helped raise two children by the time I graduated from the university.
I never had the luxury of living in the dorm; I did not have the luxury of eating at the cafeteria. I was paying rent where my wife and I and the children lived. Graduating students should be proud of themselves for earning an education, and they should be prouder that they paid the loans they incurred.My father’s family helped to settle Texas. I’ve loved this place all my life. But the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Texas, you are officially insane.
