NIBONG TEBAL : Lebih 100 buah rumah di sekitar kawasan Parlimen Nibong Tebal terjejas selepas kediaman mereka dilanda banjir akibat hujan lebat sejak malam tadi.
Antara kawasan yang terlibat ialah Jawi, Sungai Kechil, Kampung Besar, Taman Cenderawasih, Kampung Sungai Buaya, Kampung Sungai Udang, Taman Nibong Tebal, Kampung Sanglang, Kampung Setthu dan Taman Ilmu.
Menurut seorang penduduk, Mohd Zabidi Embi, 52, air mula naik dengan pantas awal pagi tadi sehingga mencapai paras pinggang di kawasan rumahnya di Kampung Sungai Kechil, di sini. “Jangkaan saya memang tepat kerana pagi ini banyak kawasan telah dilanda banjir dan air sungai naik dengan pantas,” katanya di sini, hari ini.
“Tahun ini banjir paling teruk melanda Kampung Sungai Kechil, tidak pernah air naik sehingga ke paras dada di rumah saya ini. Saya tidak sempat mengangkat barang ke tempat yang lebih tinggi kerana air naik terlalu pantas,” katanya.
