The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointments of nominees recommended for the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and other key agencies, including the Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB) and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF).

The Lagos house of assembly has confirmed the appointment of nominees recommended for the state Independent Electoral Commission ( LASIEC ) and other agencies. Mojisola Meranda, deputy speaker of the assembly, on Tuesday announced the confirmation of the nominees recommended by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos. Meranda said the confirmation underscored the assembly’s commitment to enhancing governance and delivering quality leadership in Lagos state.

The confirmed appointees include Justice Okikiolu Ighile (rtd.) – chairman; Mr. Samson Ajibade – member; Dr Oluwo Durojaiye – member; Dr. Olumide Metilelu – member; Dapo Aileru – member; and Mr Oladele Adekanye – member. Apart from LASIEC, the house also approved nominations for the office of the state auditor-general; the general manager of the Lagos state Electricity Board (LSEB), and the executive secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF). Adetola Muyiwa John was confirmed as the auditor-general, while Kamaldeen Abiodun-Balogun was cleared as general manager of the LSEB. Also, Feyisayo Alayande was confirmed as executive secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund. The deputy speaker said their confirmation followed the screening of the candidates by a 12-man ad-hoc committee of the house headed by Mojeed Fatai, the chief whip. Earlier, Fatai said the committee conducted a thorough screening of each nominee’s credentials and experiences, adding that they were all capable of holding government offices
