The Albanese government has been accused of delaying the release of submissions critical of Labor’s proposal to combat misinformation and disinformation on social media.

Draft legislation released in July would grant the Australian Media and Communications Authority the power to impose massive fines on social media companies that fail to crack down on misinformation and disinformation being spread on their platforms.
