Sharom, who is also executive officer of the Kuala Langat District and Land Office, said the local authorities as well as uniformed and rescue units had identified weaknesses from the handling of the major floods last December. In addition to no less than 56 hours of simulation training and meetings, disaster management units have also assigned community leaders to act as first responders to sound the alarm for flood warnings.
