KUALA LUMPUR: Kem olahraga negara menunjukkan prestasi positif sekali gus menunjukkan petanda baik untuk cemerlang pada edisi 2021 apabila berjaya melunaskan sasaran 5 pingat emas di Sukan SEA 2019 di Filipina seperti disasarkan Kesatuan Olahraga Malaysia .

“Bagi sukan olahraga, kita capai apa yang kita hendak. Memang puas hati dengan pencapaian atlet sama ada kategori A atau B, walaupun kita hilang beberapa pingat. Selain meraih 5 pingat emas, skuad olahraga juga turut menghadiahkan 9 perak dan 7 gangsa buat kontinjen Malaysia – di mana kejayaan mereka itu boleh dianggap sebagai pencapaian membanggakan di luar Kuala Lumpur.

Mumtaz tidak terkejut dengan kejayaan yang diraih Muhammad Haiqal yang mempertahankan gelaran Raja Pecut Asia Tenggara, yang diraih Khairul Hafiz Jantan pada edisi 2017 di Kuala Lumpur dan serta kejayaan Andre Anura melepasi jarak 8 meter, sekali gus melakar rekod kebangsaan baru.
