Menteri Kewangan Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz berkata, RMK 12 adalah pelan ekonomi jangka panjang dan tidak terjejas oleh wabak Covid-19.
“RMK-12 adalah pelan ekonomi jangka panjang iaitu 5 tahun . Jadi kesan daripada Covid-19 tidak akan menjejaskan RMK-12. Kesan pandemik Covid-19 menyebabkan kerajaan merancang ekonomi menerusi beberapa fasa, dan ketika pembentangan Belanjawan 2021 nanti, ekonomi negara sedang melalui fasa “dihidupkan semula”.
“Fasa ke-2 adalah daya tahan , iaitu kerajaan umumkan Pakej Rangsangan Ekonomi Prihatin Rakyat yang memberi fokus kepada rakyat dan sektor ekonomi. Mengulas mengenai unjuran prestasi ekonomi negara tahun ini, beliau berkata kadar pertumbuhan Keluaran Dalam Negara Kasar dijangka lebih rendah seperti diunjurkan Bank Negara Malaysia iaitu sebanyak -2% hingga -0.5%pada bulan lepas.
