A baseball game will be 5 p.m. at Deotis Gay Field in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 322 N. Fourth St., La Porte.

Evening festivities begin at 7 p.m. at Jennie Riley Community Center, 322 N. Fourth St., La Porte, and will include food trucks, open mic performances, poetry readings and dancing.Festivities begin at 10 a.m. at the community center and include live music, face painting, raffle drawings, games and giveaways.

The annual community car show begins at 10:30 a.m., a pageant begins at noon and the community picnic starts at noon. A worship service will be at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Church, 312 N. Sixth St.The city of Texas City is sponsoring events including a poetry slam, parade and family festivities.
