The Road Transport Department ( JPJ ) will implement a job rotation policy for counter service staff who have served for more than five years, affecting 1,907 personnel nationwide. This move follows a recent announcement by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, regarding a new job rotation policy for civil servants with over five years of experience at service counters .
Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, the director-general of JPJ, stated that the department is finalizing a list of eligible counter service staff to be submitted to the Public Service Department (PSD). He emphasized that the policy aims to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and service quality at JPJ counters. 'This initiative also underscores the importance of integrity among JPJ counter service staff while improving the skills and experience of civil servants, particularly JPJ personnel, in service delivery,' Aedy Fadly said. He added that JPJ is dedicated to providing the best and most efficient service to the public, aligning with the Public Service Reform agenda. Earlier in his New Year 2025 Address for civil servants on January 20, Shamsul Azri announced the PSD's implementation of job rotation for civil servants who have served at service counters for over five years. He deemed serving at a counter for more than five years excessive and unsuitable for any civil servant. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also reportedly stated that job rotation involving public servants at service counters can address integrity concerns, improve service delivery quality, and create a more positive work environment
