“The recovered sum included RM1.95 million in cash and S$1 million in foreign currency,” he said.“In addition, police seized a Beretta pistol, 250 live bullets and a pair of handcuffs from the suspects,” he told reporters at the Johor police contingent headquarters today.Mohd Shuhaily said initial investigations revealed that the suspects were organised into specific groups before the kidnapping of the businessman.

“Police are also on the lookout for a suspect who remains at large,” he said, adding that the suspects will be investigated under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Act 1961 for abduction, wrongful restraint or wrongful confinement for ransom. The three Vietnamese suspects — two men and a woman in their 30s — will also be investigated under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Act 1961.
