Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, highlighted Johor's status as the leading contributor to Malaysia's agricultural sector. The state government aims to strengthen Johor's position as a key food supplier both domestically and internationally by increasing agro-food production and boosting agricultural exports. The collaborative efforts with the Federal government and the focus on research and development will ensure sustained growth in the sector.

JOHOR BARU: Johor leads the nation's agricultural sector, according to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. Onn Hafiz made these remarks following a meeting with Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup to discuss agricultural development and food security in Johor. \'To guarantee continued production growth, we will collaborate with the ministry to concentrate on research and development (R&D), particularly for pineapple, coconut, durian, banana, and papaya cultivation,' he said. The state government has also allocated RM18.48 million for various agricultural development initiatives this year. \He also expressed gratitude to the Federal government for allocating over RM21 million to intensify initiatives and programs related to food security in Johor under Budget 2025.
