Starting with the shift to a Saturday-Sunday weekend, replacing the previous Friday-Saturday model, the state aims to boost family time and economic activity. The Gemas- Johor Baru electrified double-tracking project, set to commence operation in the second quarter of this year, further enhances connectivity. Additionally, Johor Baru city center will now be known as Ibrahim International Business District (IIBD) from January 1st.
The MBJB announced a new postcode, 80888, for the IIBD, replacing the previous 80000 for Johor Baru. This rebranding initiative seeks to elevate the business district's profile on a global scale
