The Chinese community in Johor will have the opportunity to enjoy a 'reunion dinner' with Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration. The gatherings will be divided into two sessions: one for the state's central zone and another for the southern zone. The central zone reunion dinner will be held at 7pm on Sunday (Jan 12) at the Batu Pahat Che Eng Khor Moral Uplifting Society.

Those in the southern part of Johor can attend the reunion dinner scheduled for 7pm on Friday (Jan 17) at the Seri Alam Foon Yew High School campus. Ling, who is the Johor health and environment committee chairman, said Chinese communities in districts such as Batu Pahat, Kluang, Muar, Tangkak, and Segamat can participate in the central zone gathering. Meanwhile, those in Johor Baru, Kulai, Pontian, Kota Tinggi, and Mersing can participate in the southern zone event. The events, organised by the state government, aim to provide an opportunity for groups involved in fields such as politics, economy, culture, and education to engage with the Mentri Besar during the festive season. We also aim to narrow the gap between the state government and the people through these two meaningful events, said Ling. He encouraged interested Chinese groups to register for the reunion dinner via the event secretariat at 019-778 8669 or 012-711 1352 for the central zone, or 012-300 0703 or 012-721 7216 for the southern zone
