Interfaith harmony essential for unity, says Lam Thye

KUALA LUMPUR: Interfaith harmony is crucial for fostering mutual respect and understanding among different religious communities , according to Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye .

"When people of different faiths come together in dialogue and cooperation, misconceptions are dispelled, and a culture of trust and acceptance is strengthened. "We must actively reject all forms of intolerance, extremism, and hate speech that threaten our unity," he said when contacted on Sunday . "Religious leaders, educators, and policymakers all have a role to play in fostering interfaith understanding. Schools should instil in young Malaysians the values of respect and empathy for different faiths," he lamented.
