The infrastructure adviser modelled five options for the future of housing in Victoria by 2056, when the state is projected to be home to 11 million people. "If we do that, we're all going to have a better quality of life, a stronger economy and a more sustainable environment." She is in easy walking distance to a shopping centre, train station and parks, and she loves the feeling of safety of living in an apartment building."I couldn't have imagined living in an apartment before I lived in an apartment, I thought it was an inner-city thing to do," the 47-year-old said.Ms Tunnicliffe also has plenty of open space to walk her dog, Bella — although Bella does get scared of motorbikes when she's on the balcony.
"We can't continue to sprawl Melbourne, but we can't have a free-for-all in the established places and lose the things about them we think matter," he said.
