KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) will put its focus in Selangor and Perak in it's bid to secure victory in the 15th General Election, says pro-tem president Datuk Dr Ibrahim Ali.
The former Pasir Mas MP said Thursday that the two states are"critical areas" in which he claimed non-Malay-based parties were more dominant in the administration.“We have aspirations of winning the next general election, and therefore, we will be outlining several important criteria that each party member must have.
“Putra intends to champion Islam and protect the rights of Bumiputras,” he told reporters at a press conference to announce the Registrar of Societies' approval for Putra to be registered as a political party.Ibrahim said Putra, which uses the Malay headgear as its official symbol, was formed on the back of requests from many quarters who are unhappy with the current political scenario.
