Less than a week after hoodlums murdered a 58 year old woman in ‘Jeka da fari’ area of Gombe State capital by stabbing her on the neck, a female student of the College of Education Billiri, in Billiri local government area of the state was killed by another hoodlums in the early hours of Monday.
LEADERSHIP reports that this was the third time in three months that thugs slayed innocent citizens in the state as the first reported incident was the murder of a popular islamic preacher in the state Sheikh Albani Kuri. The second was last Friday at Jeka da Fari in the state capital when suspected thugs killed a woman and carted away her phone and the latest one was the female student in Billiri.
The police have however arrested the suspected killers of the 58-year-old woman even as those of the islamic cleric are yet to be fished out.But in an interview, a neighbour of the deceased who lives in the same house with her which is off campus, one Mustapha Mohammed, revealed that the incident occurred at about 3:50AM.
