To meet growing demand, the Hershey Co. is expanding chocolate production at a proposed new factory in Derry Township.near the Reese’s plant along West Chocolate Avenue.
For the first time, the company also shared it plans to manufacture Reese’s, Kit Kat and Hershey’s products at the plant. Hershey said the factory is targeted to be up and running by 2024. The Hershey Company is proposing a 250,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility in Derry Township. Hershey said demand for its products is at an all-time high. In fact, since 2019 the company noted it has experienced sales growth in retail seasonal and snack size candies.
