A head-on crash Sunday afternoon in Felton killed a Santa Cruz man, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP officers were called at 4:28 p.m. to Mount Hermon Road east of Felton Fair shopping center. A 2019 Lexus westbound on the road had crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a 2007 Volkswagen Beetle, the CHP said. The Beetle’s driver — Dale Erskine, 55 — was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lexus’ driver suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said. No passing is allowed on that stretch of Mount Hermon; the speed limit is 45 mph.Related Articles
