Bumubuti at nabawasan na ang haze sa Metro Manila.

Ito ang kinumpirma kahapon ng isang weather specialist ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration na si Rhea Torres matapos na magkaroon ng matinding smog noong Biyernes na ayon sa mga eksperto ay dulot ng polusyon mula sa mga sasakyan na bumalot sa kalangitan at nagpababa sa kalidad ng hangin.

Nilinaw rin ni Torres na palagi namang present ang haze na noong Biyernes ay pinalala lamang ito ng phenomenon na tinatawag na thermal invasion, na nagaganap kapag nakulong ng mainit na hangin ang mas malamig na hangin, kabilang na ang mga pollutants mula sa mga sasakyan at mga industriya. Maoobserbahan pa rin aniya sa ngayon ang haze sa NCR ngunit hindi na ito kasing lala ng smog noong Biyernes, na unang pinangambahan na mula sa bulkang Taal at nagresulta pa sa kanselasyon ng klase sa mga paaralan at pasok sa mga tanggapan ng gobyerno.

Hinikayat din naman ni Torres ang mga residente ng NCR na patuloy na magsuot ng face masks dahil sa patuloy na banta ng polusyon sa mga urban area. Inaasahan naman umano nila na magkakaroon na ng mas mahusay na kalidad ng hangin sa mga susunod na araw ngunit posible rin aniyang magkaroon pa rin ng bad haze day kung magkakaroon muli ng thermal inversion.
