When he entered the courtroom, family members of the victims raised placards with photos of the women calling for him not to be released on bail.
The formal bail application of 61-year-old Paul Prinsloo, who is accused of murdering his wife and stepdaughter in Hartbeespoort in November 2023, could not take place in the Brits Magistrates’ Court today after water and electricity interruptions hindered proceedings.
Police said at the time that an argument between the man and the women broke out around 14:00 after which Prinsloo fetched a hunting rifle and killed both women. He was expected to formally apply for bail today, but the case was postponed to April 15 after his attorney Tom Pritchard told the court the proceedings would be hampered by water and electricity interruptions in Brits.
