The 34-year-old man from Far North Queensland, who is now facing multiple weapons and drugs charges, was allegedly caught speeding weeks earlier.

It is alleged a 34-year-old man from Gordonvale, south of Cairns, was caught speeding on a motorbike in early February and refused to stop for highway patrol officers. Police said "extensive investigations" led officers to a home at Millstream, in the Tablelands, last week where they allegedly found four handguns, seven rifles, multiple knives and other weapons.Drugs including methylamphetamine, cannabis buds and plants were also seized at the address.They include unlawful possession of weapons, insecure storage of weapons, fail to store ammunition in a secured area, and possessing dangerous drugs.
The man also faces traffic offences such as dangerous operation of a vehicle, disobeying the speed limit, and evasion. A 61-year-old Millstream woman was also charged with one count each of possess dangerous drugs and producing dangerous drugs.
