Govt eyes extension of price control period

THE government has, in principle, agreed to extend the period of enforcement of the Festive Season Price Control Scheme in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri in June from 14 to 15 days in an effort to reduce the cost of living. Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said, however, this would be decided on only after discussions with stakeholders.
