Google added a new entry-level smartphone to its Pixel 9 series lineup in Malaysia with the launch of the Pixel 9a. The device boasts a vibrant display, impressive camera capabilities, and long battery life.
Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 9a in Malaysia , adding a new entry-level option to its Pixel 9 series lineup. This smartphone joins existing models like the standard Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which have been available in the country since last year along with Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Watch 3. The Pixel 9a is priced at RM2,399 for the 128GB variant. A 256GB storage option will be released at a later date.
While Google has not yet announced the exact release date for the Pixel 9a in Malaysia, consumers can expect it to arrive sometime this April through Google Store and authorized retailers. The Pixel 9a boasts a sleek new design with a flat profile and rounded edges. Its highlight is a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, touted by Google as the brightest in its A-series category, reaching 2700 nits brightness. This is 35% brighter than the Pixel 8a's display and comes with a native resolution of 2424 x 1080 and a dynamic refresh rate that can go up to 120Hz. To ensure durability, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the device itself meets the IP68 water and dust resistance standard.For photography, the Pixel 9a features a 48MP f/1.7 main camera with Super Res Zoom capability up to 8x, coupled with both optical and electronic image stabilization. It is accompanied by a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera on the rear and another 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera for selfies on the front. A 5100mAh battery powers the phone, and Google claims that it can last for over 30 hours on a single charge. The Extreme Battery Saver mode can extend battery life up to 100 hours. The Pixel 9a is available in Iris, Peony, Porcelain, and Obsidian color options and comes standard with a 1-year warranty in Malaysia
