PETALING JAYA: Selangor are looking for some Venezuelan flavour to zest up their midfield and ensure ample ammunition for their wingers and strikers.
Enter former Wolfsburg midfielder Yohandry Orozco who has been confirmed as the club’s eighth foreign player. Orozco has been earmarked as the chief playmaker for the club.
His most recent club was the Colombian side Deportes Tolima, where he appeared 114 times and contributed 12 goals and 18 assists in two seasons. He won two cups with the New York Cosmos in the North American Soccer League Regular Season and the NASL Soccer Bowl in 2015/2016. Following that, he won the Primera A title with Deportes Tolima in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
“The team now seem to need a team general. I hope Orozco can dictate our game pattern and be able to stabilise the team’s attack with whatever we are lacking,” he said to the Selangor media team.
