JOHOR BARU: A total of 22,689 people - comprising police officers, armed forces members and their spouses in Johor - will be involved in the early voting process on Tuesday (Nov 15).

Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said that a total of 3,234 officers and policemen have also been deployed to man all the 63 polling centres in the state.

“There will be 63 polling centres with 86 voting channels,” he said during a press conference at the Johor police contingent headquarters here on Monday . “At the same time, we have also set up a special task force under ‘Ops Cantas Khas’ involving 81 officers and 237 policemen throughout the election period.

Comm Kamarul Zaman also said that a total of 70 police reports had been received by the police since the nomination day on Nov 5 until Nov 13.
