KUALA LUMPUR: A meeting is believed to be being held between top Barisan Nasional and Pakatan harapan leaders at a hotel on Monday (Nov 21) morning.
Several leaders were seen arriving at the hotel including Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Shamsul Annuar Nasarah.
As of 10.30am, Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at the Seri Pacific Hotel. Anwar waved to reporters that staked out there, and entered the hotel without making any commentsOn the Pakatan side, Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu and PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution were spotted at the lobby.
The King had given a deadline of 2pm on Monday for coalitions and political parties to form a government and present a candidate to be the Prime Minister, says Istana Negara. Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the the King has tasked Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun to consult the political parties and coalitions which have gained the most seats to form the next government of the day by today afternoon at the latest.
