A Garland police detective was detained this weekend on citations related to prostitution and having an open container of alcohol in his truck while off duty, Dallas police said.

Carter was pulled over by Dallas police about 1:40 a.m. near the intersection of Shady Trail and Southwell Road after officers saw a woman in “provocative clothing,” described as a pink dress and high heels, enter the passenger side of his vehicle, according to the report.Carter told officers he drove around to look at the girls in miniskirts, police wrote in the report. The woman, who was not identified in the report, told police she wasn’t a prostitute.
