Senior quarterback John Paul Head ran for 138 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 150 and another score as Vestavia Hills blanked Tuscaloosa County 45-0 on the road on Friday night.
Vestavia also got a 1-yard TD run from Taylor and a 16-yarder by Taaffe. Owen Simpson kicked a 44-yard field goal.Tuscaloosa County finished with 65 yards rushing and 21 through the air. Sophomore Chardarius Hutchins led the Wildcats with 42 yards on 17 attempts. For Center Point , Thermon Deon Moore threw for 120 yards, and Julius Finnerson ran for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Freshman Ezavier Crowell went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season with a 61-yard touchdown run. The Aggies also got a rushing score from Jeremiah McKenzie . Quarterback Landon Duckworth completed touchdown passes to Crowell and Nasir Powell . Andalusia’s 14 points were the most surrendered by the 10-0 Knights in the regular season that included seven shutouts. The winners averaged 43.5 points a game this year while allowing 3.2. Andalusia averaged 40 points a game in 2023 and gave up 9.5 per outing.Josh Griffin led the Knights with 137 yards on the ground on 20 carries. Quarterback Caleb McCreary ran for 120 yards with three touchdowns on 14 carries. He also threw a TD pass.
