Something else that’s crucial to Flyana Boss’s look? Kanekalon. The synthetic hair extensions, often used in braids and other protective hairstyles, got a special callout in “You Wish” –– “I’m made of sugar, spice, kanekalon, and cinnamon…” –– that seemingly caused a longstanding spike inin late June, around the same time the song went viral. All the while, the rappers have been ushering in a loyal fan base of Black women who certainly don’t need Google to know what kanekalon is.
