JOHOR BARU: The flood situation in Batu Pahat is worsening with the number of evacuees recording a slight spike despite other districts seeing improvement.
The state Disaster Management Committee said that as of 4pm on Tuesday , there were eight flood-affected districts in Johor compared with nine at noon. The total number of evacuees is 39,477, and they are being housed at 201 relief centres .
“Batu Pahat still recorded a slight increase of evacuees with 25,690 currently seeking shelter at 84 PPS compared with 23,370 at 78 PPS at noon. “This is followed by Muar , Segamat , Tangkak , Kota Tinggi , Kluang , Mersing , and Pontian ,” it said in a statement.Article type: free
