JOHOR BARU: Johor recorded a slight decline in the number of flood victims as of noon on Monday (Jan 30) compared with the previous figures at 8am.
The State Disaster Management Committee said presently there are 2,683 people from 758 families seeking shelter at 29 temporary relief centres in five districts."There were 2,807 victims from 774 families taking refuge at 31 PPS as of 8am on Monday," it said in a statement.
The majority of victims were from Batu Pahat with 952 people from 270 families seeking shelter at eight temporary relief centres. "There are 350 victims from 97 families in Kluang at two centres and Segamat with 92 people from 28 families at four centres," the statement added. Sungai Batu Pahat in Bekok at 18.52m and Sungai Batu Pahat in Sembrong recording 11.03m from the dangerous levels of 12m.
