The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) has issued a flood warning for Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin districts in Pahang from December 29 to 30 due to heavy rainfall. Significant rainfall is expected to cause overflow in several major river basins, including the Pahang River, Kuantan River, and Rompin River.
KUANTAN: Floods are expected to hit three districts in Pahang , namely Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin from Sunday to Monday .
"The Pahang River Basin covers the Lepar River, Belat River Channel, Chendering Canal, Jawa Canal, Rangin Canal, Galing River, Jelai River, Kenau River, Lepar River, Penor River, Pinang River, Soi River, and Terus River,” it added. Besides the Rompin River, floods are also expected due to overflow from the Endau River Basin, Pontian River Basin , and Keratong River Basin.

150 Pahang Students Complete Traditional Malay Pahang Drum Training150 primary and secondary school students from Pahang state have successfully completed a course in Traditional Malay Pahang Drumming at various locations since three years ago. The course is an initiative by the National Department of Culture and Arts (JKKN) Pahang to revive and promote the traditional drum, synonymous with accompanying silat Pahang movements, from extinction. This year, 77 students completed the course after fulfilling the requirement of attending a 24-hour course held over several weeks at designated locations, including SK (LKTP) Jengka 12, SMK Maran, and Dewan Orang Ramai Imam Perang Teh Kampung Sanggang, Temerloh. Participants were tested on their ability to play three popular drum rhythms: the sama deras song rhythm, the kambing belaga rhythm, and the raja berangkat rhythm, before receiving their certificates.
