PUTRAJAYA: The government’s agencies are actively responding to the floods in Kedah, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
"These floods in Kedah were unpredictable due to climate change. We do not hesitate to provide assistance when a disaster strikes. "We must also consider long-term planning to mitigate the risks of flooding and ensure measures are taken to avoid such disasters in the medium and long terms," said Fadillah.
He mentioned that the federal government's RM1,000 contribution will be distributed through Nadma and channelled via the Kedah State Development Office to the flood victims.
