ALOR SETAR: The Kedah state government will distribute RM1,000 in Community Welfare Assistance to each head of household who moves to a temporary flood evacuation centre in the state.
He said the federal government's RM1,000 contribution will be distributed through the National Disaster Management Agency and channelled through the Kedah State Development Office to the flood victims. "A total of 3,835 victims including 1,137 heads of household in all the relief centres concerned. I would like to advise all the individuals involved to obey every instruction of the authorities if they are ordered to move the centres,” he said.
