All five defendants have entered guilty pleas in connection to a metro area crime spree that including the shooting death of 18-year-old Shmuel Silverberg in Denver.
Ex-Aurora officer on trial under Colorado’s new failure-to-intervene law for not stopping pistol-whipping of arresteeEarlier this month, Noah Loepp-Hall, 21, pleaded guilty to one count each of second-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping, according to the DA’s office. Seth LaRhode, 22, pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary and theft; and Aden Sides, 22, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury and kidnapping.
Silverberg, who was a student of Yeshiva Toras Chaim, a religious school on Stuart Street near West Colfax Avenue, was fatally shot on Aug. 17, 2021, outside the school.
