The chairman of the Farmers' Cooperative Organization (FCO), Datuk Mahfuz Omar, has urged farmers across the country to register for the newly introduced Crop Insurance Scheme, which is free for two seasons. This scheme aims to provide compensation to farmers in case their paddy crops are damaged by natural disasters such as floods and droughts.
TAIPING: Pesawah di seluruh negara digesa mendaftar dalam Skim Takaful Tanaman Padi supaya mereka boleh memohon untuk mendapat ganti rugi jika tanaman mereka rosak akibat bencana alam seperti banjir dan kemarau.
“Pesawah diminta untuk segera mendaftar di mana-mana Bank Pertanian atau datang ke Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan bagi membolehkan mereka mendapat pampasan sekiranya berlaku bencana. Beliau ditemui pemberita pada program kerjasama antara Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan Batu Kurau dan Pusat Koreksional Kamunting di sini hari ini.
