PETALING JAYA: Skipper Farizal Marlias wants his teammates to bounce back stronger in their next 2022 World Cup-2023 Asian Cup Group G qualifying match.

The Harimau Malaya were edged 1-2 by the United Arab Emirates in their second group match at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Tuesday after kicking off their campaign with an away win over Indonesia last Thursday.

“I hope we can continue the momentum and don’t get disheartened because it’s still early days in the qualifying round. Vietnam are fourth with a point but have a game in hand. Indonesia remained bottom after two defeats. Meanwhile, striker Syafiq Ahmad, who scored Malaysia’s goal, felt that they blew their chance of collecting maximum points against the UAE.
